MHM Presentations – Al-Falah International Public School, Dar e Arqam & Peshawar Science School , Abbottabad
Society For Youth is proud to share another 3 #YouthMenstrualHealth2022 Campaign sessions. The sessions were held on the 25th of March, at Al-Falah International Public School and College, Dar e Arqam School Khagan Colony Campus, and Peshawar Science School and College, in Abbottabad. The sessions collectively served more than 100 girls from 7-12th grades.
These sessions were aimed at educating young adults about #menstrualhealth. They highlighted the various taboos and myths associated with menstrual health care. SFY is very intentional in challenging popular menstrual myths that make it difficult for young women to take care of themselves. Which makes it emotionally straining to participate in everyday life, impeding education. The sessions also highlighted healthy and environmentally responsible ways in which young women can practice menstrual health care.
These sessions are extremely helpful in creating an encouraging environment where such sensitive topics can be discussed openly. The participants were quite enthused by the conversations around menstrual health and contributed eagerly to the conversations.

These sessions are key to democratizing knowledge around #menstrualhealth which is an imposing reality in young women’s lives. They are helping build the grassroots infrastructure to establish safe spaces, for daring conversations around women’s health. Additionally, these sessions are helping construct a leadership infrastructure that will allow us to subsequently focus on other issues that affect our communities.
We share our deep-felt gratitude for Principals, Madam Sadia Shams, Madam Ayesha Khan, and Madam Farzana Shafique for their phenomenal support of the #YouthMenstrualHealth2022 campaign. Thank you to SFY leaders Sana Ahmed and Zainab for pulling an impressive series of sessions together for this campaign.
