#YouthMenstrualHealth session emphasized on individual responsibility in properly managing menstrual health in sustainable way that yields better health outcomes along with reduced environmental effects due to menstrual health practices. The session also highlighted authentic hygienic practices and discouraged unhygienic practices that often results in harmful diseases and infections. Several harmful practices are common due to illiteracy about personal hygiene during menstruation. The session shed light on responsible and informed menstrual health practices.

Menstrual healthcare still faces many social and cultural restrictions which are a big barrier in the path of menstrual hygiene management. Unfortunately, due to lack of knowledge on menstruation preparedness and management or due to shyness and embarrassment, menstruation is considered taboo, despite being a natural process. To combat this taboo SFY is raising awareness through its #40in4Campaign.
