#40in4Campaign – Hira Public School, Nankana Sahab
#SocietyForYouth successfully organized the 16th session of the #40in4Campaign at Hira Public Higher Secondary School Nankana Sahib, raising awareness about #YouthMenstrualHealth. This MHM session served 70 students of grade 9th.
For the students, it was the very time they were exposed to education on menstruation and how to effectively and responsibly manage periods. Building on our previous activism, the session raised awareness based on factual knowledge of. #YouthMenstrualHealth. And identified best practices as opposed to other uninformed and superstitious practices students adopt in their daily lives.
With the #40in4Campaign, SFY aims to create awareness among students about dealing with periods and promoting healthy habits that directly influence women’s health. The students were informed about unhygienic practices that are risky and dangerous to their health, the kind of infections and risks they could face, and how serious the consequences could be sometimes. Likewise, the session also identified the benefits of adopting healthy practices and how important it is to implement them. The session was a huge success, and the young girls felt encouraged to share their experiences and ask questions regarding menstrual management.
SFY is grateful to Madam Khadija, Principal of Hira Public Higher Secondary School Nankana Sahib for allowing us to conduct a session on MHM. SFY is also thankful to SFY leader Nida Nasreen and volunteer Amina Khalid for volunteering and leading this #40In4Campaign session.
