Society for Youth organized two leadership development workshops, part of the #YouthPeaceInitiatve, on the topic “Why Will Power Matters; Leadership with Values” at Albadar High school and College, in Shewa Adda, and Government Boys Higher Secondary School in Dagai, both in Swabi. The workshops highlighted the importance, need and the intersection of willpower, values, and leadership. Students learned about the nature and practice of willpower as well as using it as a tool for change in the community. The workshop engaged 60 students from grades 9th-2nd year, from both highschools. Importantly, students were introduced to and developed a ‘leadership journal’, identifying three sets of values; personal, family and professional. And they also discussed the role setting values plays in our lives. The workshop engaged and encouraged students to reflect richly and deeply on their own guiding principles and values, to bring intentionality to their lives, and to invest time in profound self-awareness as part of their leadership journey.
