Story of a School Girl – #40in4campaign #LIMEPAKISTAN
During an SFY session at a government school , a girl bravely opened up about her continuous bleeding for approximately 21 days. But she expressed reluctance to share this information with her mother or teacher. She was unaware that this extended bleeding was abnormal. The girl’s class teacher, who was also present during the session, informed us that she had fainted at school the day before, possibly due to weakness caused by the prolonged bleeding. Without delay, we promptly contacted her parents and advised them to seek immediate medical assistance from a gynecologist.
This incident highlights the need for holistic menstrual health education, both for students and teachers. By promoting open conversations about menstruation, dispelling myths, and providing accurate information, girls can gain the knowledge and confidence to address their health needs.
