Whispers of Womanhood #40in4Campaign #LIMEPAKISTAN
“I had my first period when I was twelve. I was very scared of my first period. I was getting ready to go to school, I thought I got some kind of injury or illness. I told my mother about it and she guided me. I want girls to be guided before their first period so that they don’t have any fear or misunderstanding during their first period experience like me.”
Educators frequently exhibit hesitancy towards conversing about menstruation, thereby compelling young women to rely solely on their mothers and elder sisters as the main reservoir of information. Regrettably, this knowledge is typically only disclosed after a girl has experienced her initial menstrual cycle. Consequently, numerous girls begin their periods without adequate instruction or readiness to manage its effects.
Please Support #LIMEPakistan‘s mission to train 1,000 teachers on Menstrual Education and provide Safe Pad sanitary products for 1,000 women so that young girls and women can receive the support and guidance they need to properly care for their menstrual health.
