#YouthRamadanDrive2023 – SOS, Mangal orphanage, Abbottabad

SFY recently carried out a heartwarming Eid gift project that brought joy to 55 children in SOS, Mangal orphanage, Abbottabad. The project involved distributing Eid gifts to the children and spending time with them. The project #Gifting Love was part of SFY’s #YouthRamadanDrive2023, which aims to create volunteering and community service opportunities around important community needs during holy month of Ramadan.
The children were overjoyed to receive the gifts and spent the afternoon playing with their new toys and enjoying the sweets. The leaders of SFY also spent time with the children, playing games, and engaging in conversations. This provided an opportunity for the children to bond with our members and feel loved and cared for. #GifttingLove not only provided the students with Eid gifts but also allowed them to have fun and enjoy the festive occasion. It is a great example of how community service can be combined with cultural celebration and fun activities to promote inclusivity and belonging.
SFY aims to build community, promote an economy of care, and create connections that allow and facilitate belonging and inclusion. The organization believes in empowering young leaders to be ever more cognizant of their community’s realities and needs
We want to thank SOS Incharge Ma’am Hanifa for her support in this project.
We would also like to express our gratitude to Project leaders Sabahat, Imaan, Mahnoor, Maham ,Darkhshan, Zainab and volunteers Saad, Shahyan, Wasif and Mehwish for their leadership in not only leading the project but also building relationships and serving the kids at SOS.
