#40in4Campaign – Government Girls High School, at Dosehera, Charsada

#SocietyForYouth held its 24th session of the #40in4Campaign at Government Girls High School, at Dosehera, Charsada . Girls from grades 7 to 10 attended the #YouthMenstrualhealth session.
This was the first of its kind session organized at the schools. Students received information on managing menstrual health effectively. Mostly young girls lack understanding about menstruation, which may be a result of sociocultural barriers in their communities. It’s crucial to inform teenagers about menstrual health issues so they can protect themselves and have an impact on those working to advance reproductive health.
The session’s major goal was to contribute to the knowledge and awareness there was about menstruation hygiene among female students. The students at the government school shared the difficulties and challenges they faced due to menstruation. They challenges are informed by the deeply ingrained cultural taboos and myths.
Aside from being determined to adopt healthy and hygienic practices, the young girls also made a commitment to share this knowledge with others to contribute to the positive change that #SocietyForYouth is attempting through its #40in4Campaign.
SFY is grateful to Madam Taskeen Khan, the principal of GGHA, Dosehera in Charsada , for her assistance in organizing an MHM session at their institution. Thank you to Mahnoor Shahid for her outstanding leadership in guiding these delicate and important conversations, as well as our young volunteers Hira Shahid, Mahnoor Siraj, and Laiba Ali, without whose strong support it would not have been possible.
