#Societyforyouth arranged 27th session of #40in4campaign at Government Girls High School Sheikh Ul Bandi, Abbottabad on “Menstrual Hygiene Management”. #YouthMenstrualHealth
The session focused on educating young female students regarding menstrual health and hygiene. Girls were informed that menstruation is a natural process of a girl’s life that also play essential role in maintaining their reproductive health.Thus, they shouldn’t be ashamed in practicing Menstrual hygiene.
Many girls in our community still suffer as a result of lack of awareness on Menstrual Hygiene. They contract hazardous infections, are incognizant of Menstrual irregularities and also face stress when experiencing menarche without prior education on Menstruation.What adds to this misery is prevalent myths and stigmatization of periods that misguides young girls and hinder them from discussing their concerns and experiences related to Menstruation.
#40in4Campaign aims to facilitate safe spaces where woman feel confident to speak about their experience and receive scientific and correct knowledge.
